Perfect balance between sweetness and spices, dried fruits, sweet oak, and dark chocolate with morello cherries.
Complex flavors of sweet fruits and chocolate.
A Guatemalan rum that, unlike others, is made from virgin sugar cane honey instead of typical cane molasses. After being distilled in small batches, it is aged in oak barrels that previously held American whiskey, Sherry wines, and PX under the solera system.
Zacapa's other great secret is its slow aging process, which takes place in a cold climate at over 2,300 meters above sea level in the Guatemalan highlands. That's why it is often said that it "ages above the clouds." Zacapa was distinguished for five consecutive years as the best rum in the world at the International Rum Tasting Contest and is the only premium rum included in the Rum Hall of Fame.
Each bottle has a handmade "petate" (a type of braided band), a tradition of Mayan culture that symbolizes the union of heaven and earth.
