This sweet wine is the result of years of research in which Rafael Vivanco set out to recover the almost disappeared traditional Riojan sweet wines known as "supurados." This is a naturally sweet wine from the late harvest of botrytized grapes. Traditionally, they were made from grapes that had raisined during the winter in the upper parts of houses, enjoyed as a dessert wine on festive days. This Vivanco innovation does not add sugar and uses the varieties: Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha, and Mazuelo grown in this unique terroir. It is a pioneering cellar-aged wine in Rioja that will gain complexity throughout its life in the bottle, just like the world-renowned Sauternes or Tokaji.
