1. Relax: no one expects you to be a sommelier
A tasting is not an exam. It’s an opportunity to discover, try, and let yourself be surprised. Come with an open mind and a desire to enjoy.
2. Smell, taste, comment… or not
Some people want to analyze every nuance, while others just want to know if they like it or not. Both are fine. At BACO, we encourage you to talk about what you feel, not what you should feel.
3. Ask whatever you want
What is a black glass? What’s the difference between a Crianza and a Reserva? Is rosé made by mixing white and red?
Spoiler: no.
And yes, in our tastings, you can ask anything. No one judges you here.
4. Note your favorites
You don’t have to remember everything, but there’s always one wine that stands out. Keep a note (or your phone) handy and save your next discovery for that special occasion.
5. Eat something before (and during)
There are always some snacks at our tastings. But if you come on an empty stomach, you miss part of the experience.
Food pairing also tastes better when you’re not thinking about sandwiches.
