La Isla VS Tinto

Vivanco La Isla Viñedo Singular Tinto is part of the range of wines produced by Rafael Vivanco within the new Viñedos Singulares (Unique Vineyards) category, approved by the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Rioja in 2017 to give visibility to wines from a single plot located in an area of special quality, in the style of France's Grand Cru wines. In this case, this red wine comes from an area near the town of Briones called La Isla (The Island) because it is isolated, almost hidden, to the northeast of the village. A multi-varietal (96% Tempranillo, 2% Moristel and Garnacha Tinta, and another 2% of other varieties) and organically grown plot that Rafael discovered in 2000 with his father and that overwhelmed him, as if it were love at first sight. A place that truly deserves a wine all its own.
