Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage is a Syrah red wine from AOC Crozes-Hermitage made by Domaine Alain Graillot. The Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage vineyard covers 17.5 hectares with rocky, gravelly and sandy soil, located between the Isère and Rhône rivers. The vines are an average of 30 years old.
The Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage undergoes cold maceration with the skins for 2-5 days, then ferments at controlled temperatures and undergoes long maceration with the skins in cement tanks for 15 to 21 days. Once fermented, the wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, 10% of which are new, and in demi-muits, large 600-liter barrels. It is lightly filtered before bottling but not fined. The Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage expresses explosive black fruit mixed with spices, all backed by good acidity and firm tannins.
