Haut Placey Sauternes
Château Roumieu has belonged to the Goyaud family since the 18th century. During this century, as in the 19th, the property was often the dowry of the family's ladies. Catherine Craveia Goyaud took over the Roumieu vineyards after the death of her father, Pierre Goyaud, in 1983. The vineyard is located on the clay-limestone plateau of Haut Barsac. The Barsac terroir brings together the most prestigious crus of the Sauternes region, such as the Crus Classés Climens (1st cru), Coutet (1st cru), and Doisy Daëne (2nd cru), all adjacent to the property.
