Oxer Suzanne

Suzzane 2023 is the fragrant red wine from Oxer Bastegieta, a Basque winemaker who started more than 15 years ago, revolutionizing the world of txakoli, and whose wines are now among the most desired and sought-after in Rioja.

Inspired by Leonard Cohen's song, Suzzane was made with Grenache from a 3-hectare vineyard planted in 1903 in Cárdenas (Rioja Alta) at an altitude of 580 meters, on clay-ferrous soils. It was aged for 10 months in French oak barrels.

A pure and fragrant Grenache with aromas of black fruits and a herbaceous touch. On the palate, it is intense, juicy, and dense, with elegant tannins and notes of liquorice and delicate fruit that envelop everything. Its finish is long, fruity, and with a pleasant bitterness.

A complex, deep wine with a long capacity to evolve in the bottle.

Only 4,600 bottles were produced.
